Consent & Safety

Clear rules, compassionate enforcement.

We cannot promise “safe,” but we are relentless about “safer,” with explicit consent, STI accountability, privacy protections, and guardians on duty all night.

  • Explicit consent only
  • STI tests every 3 months
  • No phones in shared spaces
  • Guardians visible and available

If something happens

Tell a guardian or host immediately. We will stop the action, support anyone impacted, document the incident, and decide on next steps, which may include removal from chats and events.

Safer by design

Safer by design, not by accident

We do not rely on vibes alone. Top Floor is deliberately structured so that consent, care, and accountability are built into how people join, how the night runs, and how we handle concerns.

  • A required rules and recommendations document that every applicant reads before joining
  • An interactive “hidden word” challenge that ensures people actually engage with our rules
  • A 30 minute vibe check Zoom to align on consent, safety, and expectations before you attend

Principles

Consent, clarity, care

Explicit, enthusiastic consent; ongoing check-ins; easy outs; guardians nearby; “red” stops everything immediately.

Consent colors

Green · Yellow · Red

Green: all good. Yellow: check-in now. Red: stop fully. Guardians respond to red instantly and record incidents.

Casual touch

Ask more, assume less

Even light touch should be invited. Avoid hallway grabs and unsolicited DMs; let people opt in with clarity.

STI & sexual health

  • STI test required within 3 months of the event. Must include throat swab for oral gonorrhea, plus tests for genital gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV-1/2.
  • Share results as requested before attending.
  • Condoms are required for any internal penetration unless you and your partner are fluid bonded and aligned on a different choice.
  • Switch to a new condom when changing partners or activities, and consider gloves for internal touch or play.
  • Wash hands and genitals after play; avoid flossing or aggressive brushing right before the party.
  • Clean toys after use and cover shared toys with condoms.

Results are submitted through a secure, HIPAA compliant portal or may be reviewed face to face over Zoom.

Privacy & phones

  • No phones in view in shared spaces. The only exception: inside bathrooms, briefly.
  • No photos or video during party hours in shared spaces. Limited, fully consented photos allowed only before doors open or after 7:00 AM, or privately in your own room/bathroom.
  • When sharing allowed photos in member channels, use disappearing messages and confirm consent from everyone pictured.
  • Never share location, passwords, guest identities, or details outside the community.

Substances & bar

  • If you show signs of over-intoxication, you may be paused or asked to leave; repeat offenses can remove membership.
  • Bartenders may refuse service at their discretion.
  • Smoking/vaping only on designated balconies; vaping indoors can lead to removal.

Serenity Room & medic

  • A dedicated Serenity Room at every event is a no play space for rest, regulation, and calm.
  • A licensed medic is based there throughout the night and is connected to guardians by radio.
  • Use it anytime for grounding, support, or a quieter landing.

Respecting the space

  • Use play beds for play, not lounging. Keep voices low near active scenes.
  • Leave no trace: dispose of condoms, wipes, and gloves; return toys to their place once cleaned.
  • Balcony play only where protected from outside view; follow guardian guidance.
  • Depart quietly when you’re ready to go; no big goodbyes that interrupt others.

Accountability and oversight

  • A transparent Code of Conduct outlines how we define consent, handle reports, and implement accountability.
  • An independent Consent Director, based outside the NYC scene, reviews all reports with a trauma-informed, neutral perspective.
  • A third party auditor reviews incident reports quarterly to ensure consistency and integrity.
  • Concerns involving leadership can bypass internal channels and go directly to the auditor.
  • In some cases, behavior outside our events such as doxxing, threats, or repeated harm may affect a member’s standing.

Incident response

  • Guardians and hosts document all incidents and support anyone impacted.
  • We may issue warnings, pauses, removal from chats, or removal from events and membership based on severity.
  • Harassment, discrimination, pressure, or ignoring “red” can result in immediate removal.

How to report

You can raise concerns in real time with a guardian or host, or after the event through our confidential reporting form. We take every report seriously and handle them as privately and respectfully as possible.

WhatsApp community

  • Members-only; links are not to be shared.
  • No unsolicited DMs. Reply in-thread and invite DMs if desired.
  • No double-posting across groups; keep content relevant to Top Floor.
  • No harassment, hate speech, or political debates. Promotions only with host approval (except in the offers group).
  • Violations can lead to mutes, removal from chats, and loss of event access.

Emotional support and aftercare

Emotional support and aftercare

After events, free Aftercare Peer Support calls are available with our Aftercare Peer Support Team: professional therapists who are trauma-informed, kink-aware, and experienced in sex positive community dynamics. They can offer space, information, and resources around consent, play party experiences, relationship dynamics, or identity questions.

This is not psychotherapy, but it is a way to feel supported and to connect with resources if something arises for you.
